Detangling process

For me detangle day is different from " Wash day" if I detangled and shampooed my hair in the same shower session it would be all bad a dry frizzy mess! So I do them separate its not set time I just do it when I feel like it needs to be done. Today I'm going to talk about the detangle process and the pros and cons for each method of detangling I use.
* I wash my hair with water only yes i clese my hair with just water  every 2 or 3 days and shampoo once a month *
1. Finger detangling

This is my least favorite method of detangling only because I can't detangle my strands with my fingers. I use to believe that I needed to finger detangle my hair exclusively because of the "benefits" it has for natural hair. When I would finger detangle only I would be detangling like every other day or so and it never seem like my hair was tangle less I did notice that my curls were being extra defined while doing this but my ends were becoming puffy and matted the crown and bang area of my head was like lowkey becoming dreads on the ends it was looking ugly so I switched to something different.

2. Paddle brush detangling

For as long as I can remember I have been using some sort of detangling brush to detangle my hair. If it wasn't a wide tooth comb it was a goody comb when I got my first weave 5 years ago I bought a paddle brush by the recommendation of my cosmetologist and ever since then I been in love with my paddle brush for detangling all hair types. I love the way the paddle brush separates my curls the detangled  texture is like a wavy Afro if I plan on doing a protective style or wearing a sleek bun then I detangle with the paddle brush. I NEVER USE A WIDE TOOTH COMB TO DETANGLE ! Why because it just hurts me too much. I have a different detangling method for when I want to wear my hair in a wash and go state.

3. Pick detangling

My favorite way to detangle my hair is using an Afro pick its the easiest and least painful method I have used for my hair. I feel as if I loose the least a mouth of hair also and the thinner teeth and wider space is percent for my curl size. I just soak my hair with water and conditioner and start from the ends and work my way up to the roots sometimes I separate my hair down the middle and sometimes into four sections but never do I braid my hair or twist it I just section it off and let it be loose till I'm ready to detangle it I find that it works better for me. After I'm done detangling I put my hair in two plats and finish my shower. I don't rinse my hair out after I detangle I keep in the conditioner because If I rinse it out it would be like I'm rinsing away all the conditioning I just did to my hair ad leave in conditioners just coat my hair not moisturize it like my wash out conditioners. So after I get out the shower I just let my hair air dry in those two braids and whenever I feel like it I take them out and I pretty much just play in my hair because my combed out hair is 70% Afro combed out curl frizz and the other 30% is curls that didn't separate during the detangling process so I'll usually just rock my fro for a few days and when I'm tired of it I just take some gel and define my hair while its dry and all my curls come back and the frizz is gone.
